About me
Art has always been my true self expression whether it be drawing in a sketchbook, painting on canvas or in recent years on computer in digital form.
I started to focus my creative skills and develop new ones when studying art and design at the local college in Southport. It was there where I was introduced to things like illustration, photography, montage/collage, graphics and many more which formed a strong creative foundation before furthering my studies at Liverpool John Moores University. It was at this point where I decided to move towards illustration producing intricate drawings with psychedelic colour palettes.
After my studies I have produced work for magazines, websites, fanzines and many personal projects over the years learning new techniques along the way.
To best describe what I do I would say it’s a combination of line patterns, textures and organic forms drawn in an intricate surreal style. I sometimes go for black and white but on most occasions I like to use a full range of bright and bold colours to convey my vision to the people who see it. On new projects I like to start traditionally in the sketchbook where I can try out new ideas before taking them on to the computer to clean up and finish.
My current workings including illustrating for a poetry book together with personal projects which I regularly upload on Instagram and other online platforms.
My future goals include maybe a gallery exhibition and continuing to learn/evolve my drawing with the hope it bring enjoyment to the people who see it.
